I met Lauren a few years ago at Ulta. My sister and I walked in hoping to get “color matched” so that we could find some foundation. The moment I saw her I was immediately in love. Her eye makeup was DIVINE. Her punky hairdo was freaking adorable. I knew I needed her in my life.
At this point I had already decided to specialize in strictly shooting only boudoir photography, but I hadn’t found a consistent hair & makeup artist that I really loved yet. Before Lauren could even walk us to the makeup display to color match us, I asked “Do you do hair & makeup? Like, professionally?” I was so ecstatic when she said, “Yes…well, I want to!”

I immediately handed her my card and said that I shoot boudoir and that I need a good HMUA for my sessions! I told her to email me, she did and the rest is history! Ha!
So, we had been working together pampering and transforming other woman for about 2 years when I finally insisted that we get Lauren on the books for her very own session. I was so excited when she started texting me photos of the outfits she had started ordering online! So much fun!!
Q+A with Lauren
I have been working for Torrid Boudoir for a couple of years and seeing how much the sessions empower all of our clients really pushed me to do one of my own. I am used to being behind the scenes. Being up front and center really allowed me to grasp how each and every client feels. <3
I am a terrible model. Going from behind the scenes to in front of the camera was a little nerve wrecking.
Elizabeth really makes it easy to grasp the reality of the session. Don’t know what to wear? She will tell you. Don’t know how to do your hair/makeup? She will help. Are you a big unlimber goof like me? Elizabeth was there helping me every step of the way.
I HIGHLY recommend doing a boudoir shoot with Torrid Boudoir! If I could hop on Yelp or Facebook and give them 10 out of 5 stars I would! It really makes you change the way you see yourself. After starting new mandatory medication, I gained 60lbs. over 4 months. Going from 102 up to 157 really took a toll on my already low self esteem. After getting in front of the camera and then seeing the end result, I actually like my body the weight I am now. I tell all of the clients that sit in my chair before their boudoir shoot, “Elizabeth is so good at what she does that she could get the Pope to undress for the camera!” My experience in front of the camera completely validated my comment! Be real, be you, and stay beautiful!
